Soho Press has released James R. Benn's fifth entry into the Billy Boyle WWII Mystery series. Hitting shelves August 17, 2010, Rag and Bone presents Lieutenant Boyle, investigator for General Eisenhower's staff, with another puzzling case.
It's December 1943 and Billy is looking forward to spending his leave with his girlfriend in Italy but a sudden change in orders sends him to London to investigate the murder of a Russian officer that may be connected to the massacre of thousands of Polish officers in the Katyn Forest.
Benn's depiction of the bombed out buildings, the life lived in the Tube stations of London and the politics among the Allies of WWII is remarkable.
James Benn has worked in the library and information technology fields for the past 35 years and is currently the director of a private family history library as well as an author. He lives in Conneticut with his wife Deborah Mandel and their dog Ranger.
