She shared the most poignant story of small town prejudice and caring of the past and then published no further novels after To Kill a Mockingbird which remains a classic of southern literature. I have read and reread the story of Atticus, Scout, Jem, Dill and Boo; I've watched them come to life in the award winning movie and marveled at the spell they weave. I also hope people are still learning from the small town compassion.
